update!

Ya....it has been a while.

Bush Post!

The only decent scanner here won't scan to my computer, so you'll have to deal with my crappy photos of sketches.  The fat planter was for an idea that I had for a Summit Reforestation t-shirt (that nobody would vote for, but oh well!)  I was going to do another drawing of him a lot slimmer...planting IS the best fat camp!

I've also been trying to draw an octopus for a while.  While this one is not that great, it is my best attempt so far.  I kept drawing them after realizing how hard they were for me to draw!

Another tree, another...10 cents?

As I head into my 7th season in the tree planting world (this time as a cook and NOT a planter), I am getting quite anxious.  Before the season starts, there are always mixed feelings of excitement and dread.  You're always excited to see old friends and meet new ones (although by this time, all of my 'cool' friends from the beginning are gone and are now replaced by fairly immature 19 year olds who insist on wearing makeup on days off and blow drying their hair in the mess tent), and you are always remembering all of the reasons why you swore you would never come back for another season.  so.  Here I am.  Going out for the last time.  Seriously.  This was a little something that I put together for our big big boss.  I call it "A Planter's Season in 3 parts".

in the country

Sooooo Backgrounds and buildings are not my strong suit!  I decided to try something simple to break the ice from what I have been doing lately...  I've been daydreaming about barns and country houses for a while.  I am really excited to get our chicken coop and garden started next year!  If we get a pig or two, I'd really like to make a small, red barn.  There are a lot of really neat ones up here!

It blows my mind how dull my scanner can make things look at times.  Oh well!  I am dangerously close to replacing my entire scanning/printing unit to something that really works!

This is just a little something I am working on.  A few places in town have asked me to sell some stuff at their stores, so I am just trying to be a bit diverse!

UGLY MERMAIDS

I'm doing this personal project on ugly mermaids.  I swear I am not doing this mermaid thing on purpose!  I've never really drawn them until the last few years.

"Agatha doesn't have very much hair..."

"Dorris kind of looks like an elephant seal..."

"Cynthia wants to fall in love..."

"Maybelle has a terrible voice..."

I made a short poem of around 28 lines about these ugly mermaids.  Mermaids are supposed to be beautiful, and these ones are not!
